A Michelin-starred chef has unveiled the world’s most expensive cheese sandwich. Made on sourdough bread, the cheese is a specially produced West Country Farmhouse cheddar with white truffle, accompanied by quails egg, slices of heirloom black tomato, apple, figs, pea shoots, red amaranth, and mustard red frills all dressed with extra virgin olive oil.
Then, just to make sure it’s as expensive as possible, it’s finished with a powdering of edible gold leaf.
This luxury snack costs over £110. It’s been produced for the Frome Cheese Show in Somerset where the chef Martin Blunos is judging a sandwich-making competition.
